July 2024 Paper Pumpkin Alternative: Painted Petals

For this kit, we created a fun fold card that we recently learned how to make at our local Creative Connections when the wonderful, Terri Gaines included in our take-and-makes. The card base is scored to create a little box on the left side of the card. This helps the card stand up, perfect for a desk, counter, or mantel! We used the flowers, sentiment, and tags from the kit. To help these stand out on the card, we added some die cut Basic White pieces from the Country Side Corners dies. Then we layered some Soft Sea Foam ink behind the flowers with blending brushes to really make them pop against the Basic White background.
For the tag, we die cut a tag from Basic White Cardstock using the Greetings of the Season dies. To get the splatter effects, we used Pretty in Pink and Berry Burst Stampin' Write Markers to flick the ink on the Basic White Cardstock. Then we fussy cut the flowers from the kit out and adhered them on the tag. Finally, we stamped the sentiment on a Stylish Shapes die cut circle and added it to the front. For the ribbons, we used the Sheer Ribbon (silver and white) and the Pretty in Pink Bordered Ribbon.
