"You Are Loved" Pride 2020

As Pride Month comes to a close, we want to celebrate with some bright, beautiful, rainbow-inspired cards! Fifty-one years ago, queer rights activists, primarily queer people of color, fought back against police harassment and social discrimination outside of the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, NYC. Through this movement, we celebrate LGBTQ+ lives while continuing to fight for equal rights and a world free of oppression. As a straight, cis-gendered mother and daughter crafting team, we are mindful of our privilege and continue to educate ourselves through resources curated and/or created by LGBTQ+ people. Although Pride Month is wrapping up, our LGBTQ+ friends and family members will always be affirmed, recognized, and celebrated as the creative, unique, and unforgettable individuals that they are. You are, and always will be, loved.

P.S. Did you know the Stonewall Inn is facing financial difficulties during the COVID-19 pandemic? Learn more about how you can save this U.S. National Monument.

The above cards feature the new Rainbow Glimmer Paper from the 2020-21 Annual Catalog. Honestly, the pictures do not even do this paper justice. It is so eye-catching in person! We used a standard card base in Whisper White Cardstock and adhered the 4"x 5-1/4" Rainbow Glimmer Paper to it. Next, we embossed a 3-3/4"x 5" Whisper White cardstock with Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder. Then, we used the Playful Alphabet Dies to die cut the embossed Whisper White Cardstock to spell #PRIDE! To add a sentiment, of course, we had to emboss "You are Loved" on Bermuda Bay and Mango Melody cardstock. The final touches come with adding Basic Rhinestone Jewels!

What's Pride Month without some rainbow colors? Hence the Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Shaded Spruce, Pacific Point, and Gorgeous Grape Cardstock! We adhered one 7/8"x 4" piece of each color to a 4"x 5-1/8" piece of Basic Black Cardstock. Next, we die-cut the cardstock using the Stitched Rectangles Dies (it's a tight squeeze). After this was finished, we die-cut each of the letters out of the sections. We then added another layer of the Basic Black Cardstock to the back so the letters are "filled" with black. To finish it up, we stamped "send with love" in Memento Ink and punched a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Classic Label Punch.
